The more I see you
Sometimes people ask me, how much of that piece is actually painted and how much is just a photo or reproduction of some kind? For me the piece is successful if the viewer can’t detect things like that because it means it works as a whole; yet I never try to make a piece look so polished that it doesn’t look like collage at all as the rough and tumble texture given by the layers of paper underneath is an integral quality. Like me, my art is full of contradictions!
