Purple Palette
Collage teaches me about using a limited palette the way no teacher was ever able to. When I select items for a collage, I instinctively choose items within a limited colour spectrum and this helps a lot when building the composition to give an overall feeling of coherence. (These palettes are often ones that I would never choose consciously.) Of course there are times when I will choose an element because of its shape or its significance although it doesn’t match in terms of palette and then I will re-colour it at a later stage.
