In a silent way
If some people say they grew up surrounded by books, I would have to say I grew up surrounded by magazines – particularly the supplements that come with weekend papers. In fact before I left home, my world view was largely made up of the images I saw in Sunday supplements. Since I later went on to work as a graphic designer, it doesn’t seem that unnatural to me that collage has ended up being my medium of choice. I love all the cutting, arranging and sticking, it makes me feel like a kid again. It also bypasses my critical function leaving me free to explore any subject or style that takes my fancy without those nagging doubts that my left brain throws up. Best of all, it neatly sidesteps that age-old artist-blocker: the blank page.
The more I see you…

Thats what I find great with art journaling. Just start by sticking in little magazine images and lettering that appeals to me and the next minute I’m swept away by inspiration.
