Despite my revelations about the Censor, I was still struggling to make sense of how to get more structure into my work and how to give it direction:

On 04/02/06, I wrote,

I want to work hard instead of dissipating my days…I want to see myself achieve something tangible…The problem with my artwork is that is has no boundaries. Every day I can do any subject, any size, in any media and work on it for as long or short as I want. No wonder I don’t know which direction to go in. On 26/01/06 I wrote,

‘I dreamt last night that E was asking me if I really wanted to move? In reply, I described my life to her in a drawn map that took the form of a circle. ScrawlIn my next journal entry on the Tree Series (23rd Jan 2006) I continue to explore the profound effect that showing my work precipitately has had on me:

‘Played a bit on the laptop with one of the tree photos but am not feeling very inspired… I feel so divorced from the me that was feverishly creating…I am afraid that I am running away, doing the proverbial u-turn again…I know it has a lot to do with that period of people seeing my work before I came away. It has thrown me into confusion. I have lost where I was with myself. Other people’s voices have replaced my own.
